Empower yourself with expert Life Navigation.
A Navigator for Your Life Journey
Mission Statement: As your Life Navigator, I guide you to find your path to your goals through the stormiest seas—so you can emerge stronger for the fight.
Many people sailing the queer and trans waters today are tired.
Activists, world‑changers, and even everyday working folx often carry more than their fair share of the sky’s weight: political pressure, workplace stress, relationship whiplash, and the constant strain of being “too much” in a world that keeps asking you to shrink.
I’m Muni Kalenandi, MA, CPC (he/they), a Facilitator & Life Navigator, and I help you build resiliency skills so you can stay grounded—even when the social and political seas are rough.
Think of me as your resilience first mate. You’re the captain of your life; I help you clean the decks, patch the sails, and read the emotional weather before it capsizes you.
I teach DBT‑inspired skills—mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy communication—through a casual, psychoeducational style. I’m a coach, not a therapist, and my work is not therapy. Instead, I create low‑pressure spaces where you can learn and practice practical tools that help you:
My approach is grounded in compassion, lived experience, and a belief that support should be accessible—no ivy‑league degree, big savings account, or “perfect” mental health needed.
If you’re someone who gives a lot of energy to justice, care, or community change, you deserve support too. An Exploration Session is a space where we can check your compass, drop your anchor a little, and name what you’re carrying. From there, we’ll map out what tools and skills might help you stay afloat—for the long voyage ahead.
Let’s connect.
Even the most dedicated sailors deserve a skilled navigator by their side.
As a queer, trans, disabled facilitator and Life Navigator (he/they), I built my practice at Helpful Pirate LLC around a solidarity economy approach because our world’s systems have never been built for those of us navigating multiple marginalizations—whether it’s class barriers hitting BIPOC and immigrant activists, racial inequities compounding burnout for Black and Indigenous world-changers, or the extra economic weight of trans and disabled lives under endless medical and survival costs. Sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, citizenship status, and intersecting traumas like ableism or xenophobia shouldn’t gatekeep access to DBT-inspired skills for resilience and justice work; that’s why my sliding scales from $25-$150 (private) and $15-$150 per session (groups) let you pay based on your abundance—household income, yes, but also honoring the unseen loads of queer survival, ethnic minority stress, or precarious immigration realities that shrink what’s truly “disposable.” Conversely, if you have benefitted from privilege, consider paying a higher amount, which enables me to continue to see folx with restricted options for lower fees.
